Myofascial Therapy

$80 per 60

Myofascial Therapy targets injuries and discomfort, reduces pain and increases range of motion by employing tense and relax stretches and cross fiber massage techniques.  This is slow, deep work that homes in on one to three muscles per hour-long session.  As a client, you will be asked to participate and will be coached through some exercises to facilitate the best results.

Available in 60, 90 and 120 minute sessions.

Sports Massage

$1 per 1 minute

Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletic activities ranging from professional sports to a weekend warrior. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short-term and long-term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness as well as promoting the body's natural immune function.

This is accomplished through the specific energizing or relaxation of muscles, depending upon what is needed. For example, a cyclist going off to a race will want no assisted stretching, but will benefit from having envigorated and warmed muscles that have good blood flow without exertion. Triathlon participants would similarly benefit from muscles that have been been slightly calmed to reduce pain, cramps and fatigue after the first two legs before energizing them again for the next one. Post-event stretches and massage help to relieve cramps and regain flexibility in stiff muscles, which helps to prevent injuries.

Swedish Massage

$75 per 60

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Alternatively, I offer an energizing session as well that uses an easily-absorbed and scentless lotion so that you can be ready for whatever your day or evening has in store for you.

Available in 60, 90 and 120 minute sessions.

Shiatsu

$75 per 60

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage therapy. The word Shiatsu comes from two Japanese words - "shi" (finger) and "atsu" (pressure). In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the energy pathways of your body, gentle stretching techniques are applied over a wider area of the body to encourage the flow of Chi (energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu is a meditative healing art that honors the body, mind and spirit. It is slow and works with your breath.

60 minute sessions available.

In fact, it is so effective that it will be my preferred area of study going forward when I go back to school again!

Available in 60, 90 and 120 minute sessions.

Deep Tissue Massage

$100 per 60

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the underlying layers of muscle in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, postural issues and repetitive motions. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is rather common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released during the session.

Geriatric Massage

$50 per 60

Geriatric massage is a form of massage designed to meet the specific needs of those who need a gentle, caring touch. This form of massage helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and also increase range of motion. Geriatric massage can help you maintain and improve your overall health, as well as regain certain physical functions that may have been reduced.

This type of massage is more about contact and care, with minimal muscle manipulation, which makes it best suited to those with fragile bodies. Generally, it is for those who have at least 65 years of experience on this planet and who aren't able to receive a more traditional massage.

Chair Massage

$30 per 30

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home or workplace. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done exclusively over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing or laying down for some of the other modalities. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.
